Folks,
I appreciate all the feedback I got on the Matt Cooke piece. It truly was a pleasure being able to work on that and I hope my future articles are even half as interesting and 1/10 as in-depth.
I added a few new sections to the main navigation bar at the top of the page (right under Walt Kowalski’s ever staring eyes). I have added a reference section on how best to contact me or any guest writers on the blog. All necessary contact info can be found there. I also added a page about “rules” and expectations. I use the term “rules” loosely. As the Joker said, “the only sensible way to live in this world is without rules.” I don’t want you to think that I am going to be an old schoolmarm about things. I just wanted to lay out some expectations, both what I expect of people when engaging me as we all as when you engage one another in the comments. I encourage you to disagree and have discussions. Just be ready to back up your argument. If you feel the need to be a superfan or play moral majority, I encourage everyone to give it to you right back.
If you have a moment, please take a quick look at those two pages.
The other half of this post is about expansion. Obviously the blog is young and there is still a lot to be done with it. The best way anyone could help is get the name of the blog out there. I created a Facebook page for it where it can be “liked” and I would greatly appreciate re-tweeting about new posts and getting some exposure. Everyone has done a fantastic job of it so far and it means the world to me. Obviously I don’t want anyone to break the rules of other forums or websites by advertising my blog, but if linking is allowed and/or suggested, I would appreciate it.
Thanks. It means the world to me.

Hey Walt and everybody else. Just stopped by after work to say Hello and to wish you well on your new adventure.
Ms. Suzzzzz Mogus — Hello hope all is well.
WMOG will happen again. Someday, somewhere.
Glad to see you stopped by, Susie Mo. Hopefully this becomes a regular thing!
“Rules” looked good, Walt. You know who’s got two thumbs up right now and loves bonin’ your Mom? Not this guy. But, if I ever do find out who he is, I’m gonna go kick his ass.
I lawl’d.
‘preciated, sir.
I met a guy over here named Wang Chung he was a dick.
So, he wasn’t having fun?
I don’t know who you are without B.S.G’s finest Admiral as your avatar.
Obviously you do. Derp.
Hey, everyone knows me and I’m not using a photo of myself dressed as William Howard Taft.
“Adam12” is taken as a name here at WordPress. It has my stomach in knots – I do not want to change it. I’m known by that handle everywhere I go on the interwebz. So, I’ve just been logging in as a guest for now. This illustrates how much a loser I am – I know.
“Adama12” is not out of the question. Decisions.
Perhaps something about Lauren Graham?
I hate when that happens and the one name you’ve used forever is taken otherwise. I got upset that this domain name was available but the email and twitter accounts were not (Avoid became Avoiding).
Hey Walt! I was wondering if you were a. going to do more pens player writeup/reviews and what your schedule is for them? Just seeing when I should come back.
I am. Hopefully will have the next one up before the weekend.
That said – please, come by the blog every day! There is all kinds of good stuff on the horizon.
I don’t know if this has been stated before; but I like the inclusion of the “Recent Comments” widget on the sidebar. Let’s you know if you’ve missed anything. When traffic picks up a bit, I think you will have to expand it….Good job though
Yes, I like it, too. Hopefully traffic will pick up and I’ll need to expand. I think I can set it to show however many recent comments I want, but anything more than 10, I feel, will look cluttered.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.
I’m liking what I see. Comments widget is very nice for somebody as lazy as me who hates clicking and scrolling. And its nice to have rules blatantly posted. Stick taps.
Thank you, sir. That was why I posted them. Even though they are somewhat ambiguous, at least I laid out some amount of expectation and what I want to see from the comments.
Release the Kraken!
Adam – Adama would be splendid I’d say. I too had to tweek my name a bit thanks to some asshole taking Dapper Dan Man, that and you can’t use underscores in WordPress….pffft.
